Mesothelioma Disease

Mesothelioma disease is a rare type of cancer that can be developed in some parts in the the human body. We can name the types of mesothelioma cancer according to the place of the tumors.

There are main three types of mesothelioma. The most common type is the pleural mesotheioma. Another type is called peritoneal mesothelioma and the last part is the pericardial mesothelioma.

The first one the pleural mesothelioma is the most common one and the 90% of all mesothelioma cases are diagnosed as pleural mesothelioma. In this type, the tumors of the cancer is developed in the pleura which surrounded the lungs and have protection functions.

The second type peritoneal mesothelioma is less common than the pleural type but it is more dangerous type. In this case the tumors are developed in the peritoneum part that surrounds the internal organs of the abdomen cavity.

The pericardial mesothelioma is the least common type of mesothelioma, in this case the tumors are developed in the outer lining of the heart which called "Pericardium". The pericardium is the sac of the heart and its arteries.

The cause of mesothelioma was discovered recently, Asbestos are some types of minerals that have deadly effect on the internal tissue. After inhalation of Asbestos, these minerals will settle in the wall of lungs which leads to inflammation and tumors after years.

The treatment of mesothelioma can be one of he following methods, the surgery, the chemotherapy and the radiation therapy. The main problem of mesothelioma diagnosis is the time, it takes from 30 to 50 years for symptoms to appear.
